10:00 Category: Secular Hall (non-LSS event)[10:00] Greenpeace Ocean Experience exhibition (non-LSS)
Greenpeace Leicester are holding an exhibition of photos taken during the Greenpeace pole to pole voyage earlier this year. The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the incredible beauty but also terrible fragility of the oceans and gather support for the Global Ocean Treaty to be negotiated at the United Nations in the Spring. We want people and their MP's to come to the exhibition, appreciate for themselves what is at stake and then sign up to our Protect the Oceans petition. Furthermore we want people to write messages to the Prime Minister asking him to give the UN negotiations the highest priority by sending the Foreign Secretary to that meeting. Location is a short walk from the Clock Tower and there is plenty of parking nearby. Attendance is free. Doors open at 10:00AM Details: - https://greenwire.greenpeace.org/uk/en-gb/events/ocean-experience-exhibition-leicester - https://www.chooseyourevent.co.uk/event/177455/greenpeace-ocean-experience-exhibition

19:00 Category: External event featuring LSS member(s)[19:30] Hamish Whiteley: Growing Up With Grandma book launch (ext event)
Hamish writes: "Another event to launch my book 'Growing Up With Grandma.' If you missed the first one at the Secular Hall in October, here’s another chance! If you came to that, you'll no doubt want to come again! "I will be doing some readings and giving an illustrated talk about the book, how it came to be written, how some of the stories came to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 etc. "The event is part of the South Knighton Community Events programme. The usual format is that there is a charge of £5 on the door, and people are invited to bring food and drink which forms part of a buffet supper which is eaten after the talk. It is all very civilised and enjoyable. "It would be lovely if you could be there. The book will be on sale. It is currently available on Amazon and also from some bookshops."
