LSS: Arnold August - Democracy in Cuba

Description: Arnold August - Democracy in Cuba

(Joint meeting with Leicester Cuba Solidarity Campaign)

Author of three books on Cuba, Arnold August has seen more than 70 articles on Cuba, Venezuela, Honduras and the new regional integration movement published on many websites around the world in both. He has also given many radio and television interviews in the U.S., Canada and Venezuela.

In Britain and 'the West' Cuba is usually portrayed as a dynastic dictatorship, but at the time of writing, president Raoul Castro has announced his intention to stand down during 2018. So how does Cuba justify its own claim to be more democratic than countries like UK?
