Remembering Leicester's Conscientious Objectors (ext event)

Description: 15 May has been designated International Conscientious Objectors' Day.

Join us to mark International Conscientious Objectors’ Day at the memorial to Conscientious Objectors in the 1914-18 war organised by Leicester CND and faith groups

As we mark the end of the WW1 centenary, we
will join people around the world to remember
those who refused to fight.

We will hear positive news about Conscientious Objectors in Korea.

We will review the progress of the charter to reduce the militarisation of young people in Leicester.

In 2016, a time capsule was buried under the memorial stone in Peace Walk for Leicester's 250 conscientious objectors.

Peace walk is between the top of Lancaster Road and the big war memorial on Victoria Park.
