ULS concert CANCELLED (for information)

Description: CANCELLED

Michael Sackin regrets that he is too ill for this concert to go ahead.
---------
University of Leicester Sinfonia concert:

Mozart Gems and Delightful Dvořák

Everyone welcome - £10 / £8 concessions / £3 (students and Under 19s)

Programme:
Mozart Overture: CosÌ fan tutte
Mozart Piano Concerto No. 25 in C major, K.503
Dvořák Ten Legends, Op.59

Conducted by Michael Sackin;
Piano Soloist, Abigail Johnson.

Michael writes: "The Overture to Mozart’s fizzing, light, yet profound opera with disturbing undertones, Così fan tutte, serves as a great curtain raiser to one of Mozart’s finest piano concertos which includes one of my ultra-favourite tunes. I won’t say which! That would be a spoiler.

"Dvořák’s Ten Legends are, inexplicably, a rarity. They have immediate charm, wonderful melodies, delightful scoring, a strong Czech flavour, and it seems that they meant a lot to the composer. Each has its own distinct character"

Not at Secular Hall!
