Description: Leicester’s Fight Agains Racism

Ned Newitt

This talk outlines the development of the movement against racism in Leicester during the 1960s & 1970s. It includes the protests against colour bars, the response to the arrival of the Ugandan refugees, and opposition to the ultra right hate mongers.

During the 1970s, Ned was a member of the Leicester Community Relations Council, Inter-Racial Solidarity Campaign and Unity Against Racism.

All welcome - admission free.

Secular Hall is open from 6pm-9pm on most Sunday evenings.

We collect food and toiletry items for asylum seekers – please try to donate if you are able.
