Description: | ZOOM TALK - Sheila Mosley "Why does Turkey get away with oppressing the Kurds in the region?" Turkey is seemingly allowed to continue oppressing Kurds in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, directly and through ISIS related-groups. Why? Kurdish people have been oppressed in their homelands within the four major parts of Kurdistan: Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, for most of our lifetimes. The UK is historically and currently complicit in Turkey’s oppression of Kurds by the Government’s failure to act, and by allowing existing arms sales contracts to continue, weapons which are then used against the Kurdish people. This inaction also supports ISIS-related groups who are acting as agents for Turkey in its attack on the Kurds. Sheila Mosley first became interested in Kurdish politics in 2002, and has retained her deep concern about the injustices dealt internationally towards the Kurdish people. As Co-Chair of SKS she has for a long time run a daily blog on the website http://supportkurds.org You are welcome to participate for free, but will need the joining information in our weekly email.
