Description: | The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain have chosen to challenge "World Hijab Day" and religious modesty rules by screening the Premiere of their film "Women Leaving Islam" The film is produced by Gita Sahgal whose talk entitled "Why we need Secularism more than ever" opened our 2021 season ( http://leicestersecularsociety.org.uk/calendar/view_entry.php?id=2638 ). It is a powerful film, in which six ex-Muslim women activists share their moving stories of growing up in Muslim families and Muslim-majority countries and the violence, loss and shunning they faced because of their apostasy.
