DARWIN DAY LECTURE - SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11th 6.30pm - Compassion Focused Therapy - Professor Paul Gilbert OBE, Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Derby, will examine an evolutionary functional analysis to explore the malevolent and benevolent side of human nature and how cultivating the evolved motives for caring can address our dark side.
28 January: The statue of Alice Hawkins – who led the women’s suffrage movement in Leicester in the early 1900s and was a member of the Society – will be unveiled on Sunday 4 February in Leicester’s new market square at a public event starting at 2pm. Secular Hall will be open from 1pm to allow marchers to leave bags / coats etc. and we will leave the Hall at 1-50pm with the banner. You can find out more about Alice here.
